Electrically insulated bearing needed in large motors
2015-08-03In relatively large motors (more than 75 KW), powered by inverter, differences of power between the
shaft ends can be generated which develop high frequency current; even bad power cable insulation or
earthing that is not optimal contribute to the development of unwanted and eddy currents. To prevent these
currents from crossing the bearings, an electrically insulated bearing can be mounted, usually at the rear
of the motor.
